EBAY..Stop Changing Stuff!!! Make buying easier NOT harder !!!

Prior Posting: As a buyer, when I scroll thru the list of items ..and I click on one, then go back to list...it is not taking me back to that item I just looked but goes to top of the list. I don't have time to then scroll AGAIN thru the list to see where I left off shopping...Hope this makes sense...[ex: Search--antique watch....Results--3,000....I scroll down to an item listed 20th....look at it...go back...takes me to the top of the list It used to back to that item so I could progress down the list.] I hate change!!! Is it just me? What's up? Response: Right click on "Open new Tab"... Guess what??it worked yesterday...not today!! What is wrong with you people???? Don't you know most people hate change for no reason....|||Had the same problem but got it resolved. After you click on the item you want to see and are ready to go back to the list you can't use the back button any more. In the upper left hand corner under the word Ebay (I think the word "category" is directly under the word Ebay, so next down) you will see "Back to Search Results" which will take you back to the correct spot on the list. Hope this helps.|||When you open a link in a new tab, and you are done looking at it, just close that tab. The previous tab you had open (search results) will remain unchanged. BTW, we're not eBay.friends Director,|||Thank YOU so much!! I was getting SOOO frustrated...(could you tell?) I just quit searching. Again, thanks for solving this for me.|||Thanks, I know your'e "not ebay"..but I wanted to voice my frustration somehow and I knew this board would help me...hopefully too, someone (ebay) maybe will see my comments and stop changing stuff for the heck of it ...dream on right?|||Some very helpful additional information that I just received about the "back button" not working. If you have internet explorer 8 you must have the "compatibility view" turned on in order for the "go back button" to work in the "new Ebay". You will find this under Tools. Now my go back button works in all lists.|||I use Firefox...haven't used IE in ages. When I use the back button to return to search results after looking at an item, it takes me right back to where I was in the seach results, just fine, as it always has. ;^)|||here they are listening to some concerns here although it really has to do with clothing maybe they will hear you? Link"This must be Thursday, said Arthur to himself, sinking low over his beer, I never could get the hang of Thursdays."|||That "bouncing back to the top of the page" back-button issue was really hot about a year or so ago. Happened to EVERYONE! I view ebay in IE, FF and GC daily, and I did have it happen to me once or twice the other day. I think it's just a glitch that rears it's head occasionally.

How do I request an item I want to BUY

How do I request an item I want to BUY? Then when someone lists the item I am informed of the auction. ----|||Use this Link|||Use the link above to tell people what you want. If you want a notification of when such an item is listed, search for it and save the search. You can then set it up for email notification.|||For example, search as you normally would for a "Dr. Who wallet". Next to the Search Results, even if there are none, it says "Save this Search". Then you have the option of being e-mailed when ever someone lists a Dr. Who Wallet! You may want to save more than one search if the keywords may vary.|||Thanks for all the replies, got the notification feature working. -------------------------

Counterfeit Cologne - Bought, Seller Issued Refund, Wants to Cancel Trans.

I bought fake cologne on eBay from a seller that has a 100% positive rating: Please provide advice on what I should do. Here is the sequence of emails. 3/21: Dear myjunkyourtreasure31, I just received the cologne. It is fake. I previously bought Armani Code from Macy's so i can tell that this is fake. It smells nothing like the real one, the packaging was tampered with and closed with a piece of tape. Also the cap of the bottle is different/cheaper. Please refund me immediately plus charges for return shipping. If I don't hear back from you tomorrow morning/afternoon I will report you to eBay. It is a good fake, that not every consumer could spot, but I could tell the difference. - yankslover He then emails me (not through eBay) back on 3/23 I am sorry to hear that. I get these from a VERY reputable company. I actually pay a lot of money for these and dont make much money on them at all. I actually use Calvin Klein Euphoria and purchased on from eBay and it was fake. Horrible smell and the bottle was plastic. But I ordered myself one from my supplier and it was original, great smell and made of glass not plastic just like the one I got from macys. So honestly I am not sure what happened. I sincerely apologize, I do know that they are older, possibly years older. So maybe it is because of that. Either way I want my customers to be happy and to leave positive feedback. So what I can do is 1) let you keep the item and give you a partial refund, or 2) have you send it back for a full refund.(honestly I would like to send it back to my supplier and ask what happened). Just let me know what you would like to do and again I apologize for the inconvenience. I respond through ebay 3/31 I am sorry, I was out of the country, and just recently returned. I think you should talk to your "reputable" company you overpay for these fakes from. The product I was shipped can not be that old being that it has the newer logo. I see you have went ahead to process a refund. However unless you pay me for return shipping + delivery confirmation, I will not be losing money by sending you the product back. Please confirm what you would like to do ASAP. Either you refund me in full and pay for return shipping + delivery confirmation, which I will get a price for if you would like, but I am estimated $10, or you refund me in full and I throw the fake in the garbage. Thank you. He responds to me 3/31 via email, not through ebay again Oh of course I will pay you for the return shipping, I want to get it back so I can send to my supplier and see if they will refund me. Go ahead and send it back to me with delivery confirmation. If you print the label online and ship priority flat rate it should be about $4.95. Once you do that let me know the total and I will send it to you through paypal if thats ok. I appreciate you sending it back He refunded me through paypal 3/23. I got a request 3/28 to cancel the transaction (which I haven't acted on yet because I am not sure what to do) Just got an email today 4/5 about unpaid item reminder (even though I paid, im guessing it is because I didn't follow up to cancel the transaction)? I am wondering what I should do? Should I wait for him to pay for return shipping and then send it back? Am I obligated to do so? Also should I cancel the transaction? And what type of feedback should I leave. Thanks!|||If you had filed with ebay/pp you would have had to return on your dime. There is no way to force seller to pay return shipping.Of course is some cases rumors say ebay has not required the return of fakes or had them returned directly to ebay/pp. The reminder is that you need to respond to the mutually agree to cancel or it will close automatically Since he refunded without awaiting return I would probably not leave feedback at all.It may not be your fault but it is your responsibility Silver rule "do not do to others what you would not like to be done to you"|||Thanks for the quick response. I "filed" through paypal as a conflict, but it said it was resolved once he refunded me. Am I forced to return the item though? So you are saying I should agree to cancel the transaction, since I have been refunded. But don't leave feedback making others aware that it is counterfeit since he refunded without awaiting product to be returned?|||So you are saying I should agree to cancel the transaction, since I have been refunded. Why not? Should Ebay be allowed to keep the commission on the sale when it was refunded?|||yankslover... I'm both a buyer and a seller... so I understand your frustration. I purchased a Prada, and was less than pleased when I got it and it was a fake.... and I had to pay to return it. But yes, it is your responsibility to get the item back to the seller, and he is not obligated to refund you for the return shipping. As a buyer, I hate that practice when the item is not as described, but that's the way it is.|||If the seller refunded w/o requiring a return ebay will not force you to and since seller has not sent you money to return they don't appear to be expecting it back. I would not leave fb because while it was not a positive experience for you are not out anything. I would only accuse someone of selling conterfiets if I had proof from a recognised authorityIt may not be your fault but it is your responsibility Silver rule "do not do to others what you would not like to be done to you"|||I would return the item. Maybe the seller will refund you the shipping. DO they have excellent feedback?Need a website fast?|||You should contact your seller regarding the return shipping cost again, since they indicated they want the item back to return / review with their supplier and have agreed to pay for the return shipping. Your seller in this case, has been reasonable. Sample Email to seller. Dear Seller As per our agreement, I await your refund of the return shipping cost of $____. Once I receive the return shipping cost via Paypal, I will be happy to return the item with D/C, so you can review the authenticity of the item with your supplier. Best regards, Your buyer If the seller refunded 100% including return shipping, I think I would give the seller the benefit of the doubt. It is entirely possible/probable the supplier is selling counterfeit fragrances to your seller, who may not have been aware. I do not think, I would leave any feedback, in this case.|||Your seller is asking you to cancel the transaction, so they can get their final value fees back from Ebay. Since the seller has already refunded you item price and the original S&H, I would agree. This is all the seller is obligated to do per Ebay/Paypal. Be aware Ebay/Paypal always require the buyer to return the item with D/C on their dime , in order to receive a refund.Since your seller has refunded without the return already, I would return, if the seller refunds the cost of return. This is what they offered and agreed to. If they don't, then they have no intention of taking the matter up with the supplier, as they have indicated.|||The basic principle here is that you cannot keep both the product and the money. For $5, you can do the ethical thing. Or you could buy a grande macchachino at Starbucks.|||Looking at the auction, it appears this is a brand new seller. They have NO feedback yet for sales, they are using manufacturer stock photos and are selling "designer" fragrances. The chances of this being authentic or "current stock" are slim.|||I think the seller should pay the return shipping fee . If the seller need the item back .|||Boy, Have people around here forgotten how to be polite and cordial?||||||Come on, chances are this seller knows the cologne is fake. Do you really think Armani allows eBay sellers to buy their cologne wholesale? Unless this was a retail item bought on mark down/close out or received as a gift that isn't wanted, it is almost 100% fake. Name brand/designers sell through certain channels and to authorized retailers and eBay sellers aren't authorized unless they have brick and mortar stores or are huge internet sellers like Amazon. Just not going to happen.

Your opinions about ebay's response concerning this buyer protection case..

I had to file a SNAD regarding an item I recieved that I paid over $600.00 for. I was told by a rep via email to return the item at "said address" before recieving a refund. OK........returned the item, at my expense..........provided tracking. After a time........I check tracking and it says the item is undeliverable at the address given. I call Ebay........and the girl I spoke with apologized and said she would have to see about getting the item redirected. she tried to call the seller, which I had done several times without a response..........of which she also did not get a response........ She told me that when the item arrived back to me that Ebay would issue a $25 credit for my time and trouble and for the lost monies I incurred in shipping fees. She told me she would call me the next day. Next day came...........no call. I call Ebay when she didn't call........and got a different rep. this different rep told me I sent the item back in the beginning to the wrong address.........of which I would have lost money and item........until I let the rep know that the previous rep had sent an "email" to me........directing this rep to the email stating the address to return the item to. Oh yes he says........there it is. OK......he says.........here is the correct address to send the item to when it returns to you. I told him about the credit amount the previous ebay rep (who was supposed to return my phone call, but didn't) said they would credit my account...........and he said he'd take care of that. Instead of issuing a $25.00 credit to my account as promised..........he issued a coupon for $10.00 off my next purchase.......which doesn't even cover the shipping I will have been out because I was issued the wrong address by them to start with.........with a message to ask questions before purchasing next time. May I ask what you all think about this?|||I am afraid your experience is typical of many Ebay Reps and the new Ebay dispute resolution system. They are understaffed, under trained and often very simply inept. I would call the dispute resolution dept back and ask to speak to a Supervisor. Explain, you were instructed by the 1st Ebay rep via email to return the item to the wrong seller's address. Advise neither you , nor the Ebay rep were/are able to reach the seller at the listed contact info (phone #). Finally, advise instead of the promised $25 credit for the erroneous shipping address provided by Ebay rep #1 , the 2nd Ebay rep issued a $10 coupon, once again demonstrating the lack of training and proper follow thru by Ebay reps. Politely , insist on the promised $25 refund for the return S&H. Ask the Ebay supervisor, IF once the item is returned to you, will you again, be required to resend at your expense, in view of the major screw ups via not one, but two Ebay dispute resolution reps. They may , offer to pay the reship costs again, for the total mishandling by their reps. The Ebay Buyer's Protection program is still new and has many glitches. I shutter to think, what will happen, when Ebay takes over all buyer disputes from Paypal.|||If you are still , unable to reach the seller via telephone listed with Ebay as their contact info, this is a violation that should be reported. Use this Link You can request the seller's contact info (phone #) here Link I would double check the newest request for the seller's phone number, with the one the last Ebay rep gave you.|||If the purchase was for the $600 Louis Vuitton bag, you must use signature confirmation for the return as it is over $250 value. You should also insure the package, just in case it gets lost or damaged during transit back to the seller. Ebay should have told you this, when asking you to return the item. Your seller has only 7 feedback and claims the item was a "gift".|||It looks like your seller is using the Ex husband's Ebay user acct. Look at the user name She states this bag was purchased in LV by her Ex husband. That likely accounts for the change or difference in the Ebay contact info Phone and address. She may have recently only updated the contact info.|||My thoughts are that this is typical of eBay's customer service on all issues. Chickens running around with their heads cut off is the visual I have of their call centers..... I sure hope you bought this fake bag with a credit card....you may need it's protection. Designer goods are not safe to buy on eBay unless you are an expert. Most are fake. Maybe the ex did buy it for her and lied about it being real and she didn't know but......

Sent to wrong address

Looking for some advise on this. There have been some problems in my area with items that are left on porches being stolen. I ordered a designer bag, and to avoid the possibility of having it stolen while I was at work, I changed the ship to location on check-out to my sister in laws. She is almost aways home and can take delivery for me (the address is VERIFIED with Paypal). So guess what happened? The seller ignored the checkout information and sent the bag to my house, and dispite it showing as delivered on April 1st - I never received it. I am figuring that it was stolen as this has happened to a few people around me. Do I have any recourse? I am getting in touch with the post office on Monday.|||Did you add your SIL address as a gift address within your PP account? Or did you just write a note to the seller?|||It was not a note. When you check out via PP, there is an option where you can change the address, so that when you actually look at the order details either on eBay or PP it shows my sister in laws address.|||Sellers are not covered by PayPal if the ship anywhere but the PayPal address marked eligible. You should have added the address to your PayPal account as a gift/alternate address before paying. How is the address verified with PayPal? Do you have a bank account/credit card attached to that address?|||The address was added to the account quite awhile ago. There is a credit card attached to the address, in PP so it is verified. The address would have covered the seller - no problem.|||Have you contacted the seller and asked why they used the wrong address?|||Most likely the shipping address you entered on paypal was different from the one on ebay. This has happened numerous times to sellers on ebay when the shipping address on ebay is different from the on ebay. If ebay wanted to improve the buying/selling experience they would listen to their customers and just have one shipping address. Sellers are required to ship the paypal address, not ebay address. You should contact the seller first and ask why they didnt ship to paypal address. You also should be able to get back your money with paypal if you file an INR with paypal.|||Sellers are required to ship only to the address shown on the Paypal Transaction Details Page for the seller to be covered. Is your sister in laws address showing on the transaction details page or not? I would verify the Paypal Transaction Details page shows the correct address. Contact your seller and report the "theft" to your local Post Master. The Postal Inspectors need the report to stake out the area and catch the thieves.||||||I found out that all sellers don't always check either the PayPal or the eBay address for the transaction when mailing. Recently a seller sent a package to me rather than than to my daughter's gift address which showed both on the eBay and PayPal transaction information. The seller got my address in the notice eBay sends sellers that I won the item. To add to the aggravation, I mailed the package to my daughter and the last information the DC shows is our area's sorting facility on March 19. I had to file a report with the Postal Inspector despite my local PO's considerable efforts to shake loose my package. Now, if I use a gift address I always let my seller know to use the transaction address rather than my address in the Won email.||||||The shipper is required to ship to the address Paypal puts on the label My guess is the Seller tried to get a jump start and prepared the package for shipment using the Buyers eBay address. Then they received the eMail that payment had been made and shipped the package out without even looking at the address on the PayPal transaction page. .Delivery Confirmation is confirmation of delivery, not tracking.|||The location was changed and neither PayPal nor the carrier screwed up. The order detail on both eBay & PP very clearly state the ship to location is my sister inlaws. And why would a seller not look at the address? How exactly would they be able to send the package out, with knowing where it was going? The seller did not use PP to print a label, so either he was guessing or at some point he would have needed to look at the address. Because both the PP ship to location and the eBay order details page location state that it was to be shipped to my sister inlaw, this constitutes an "ignore" in my book.|||File Item not recieved. It is up to Seller to insure and if they did they can file claim.|||This has happend to me before when the label printed it printed the buyers address even tho the paypal transaction page had the correct gift address. I caught it before it went out but when printing the labels most times I don't double check the address that is printed out with the one that is listed. This is a posting ID to help fight against AI or RLI. I have no agenda other than to express my opinion, which is just that, an Opinion.

Can I SKIP the "ebay Daily Deal"??? AND Why are cookies no longer working?

I've been an ebay buyer for 12 years. I don't mind the occasional ebay advertisement. I actually enjoyed reading one every now and then in hopes of an ebay coupon (anyone remember those???) But as of lately, I get them EVERY SINGLE TIME I log on, and it's getting old. Really old. Also I have noticed that I am (same as of recently) having to SIGN IN over and over, all day long. I used to log into my account every couple of days, or daily at best. YES, I am checking the "keep me logged in for the day" box, but its not working. Then if I check my email and there's an email from a seller about an ebay idea, I have to sign in AGAIN to go from the email to the auction. Is this on MY end, or is this more ebay frustration changes?|||might be on your end. i sign on with no problems and see no ads at log on . it might be you settings in your "my eBay. might be time to check them again

Seller won't combine shipping, even though he's supposed to.

I recently made a purchase, which the item(s) descriptions say 2.99, + free postage thereafter. I made the purchases, the total seperated postage totalled to about 21 dollars (7 items).. I send a request for combined shipping, and I get it combined to 21 dollars, which was the original amount anyway. It's been 4 days, and I refuse to pay because I haven't had a response after that email (I've been sending 1 a day), and I also fear I'm to recieve a warning/flag for not paying. What should I do?|||Pay up, or face an unpaid item strike, its up to you.|||Your seller has their phone number in their listings, call them and discuss the matter and get the corrected invoice.|||No! Don't pay until he corrects it. You will not be penalized, just make sure to respond to any dispute with the facts.|||You have a phone number - call the seller!
