OutlookSyncClient has stopped working ...

I am at my wits end on this...My iphone 3G has stopped syncing with outlook. all worked fine on my older system. just built up a new system running win 7 64 bit. now when i try to sync i get a message that "OutlookSyncClient has stopped working". still syncs the music and podcasts but no outlook calendar or contacts. i have tried uninstalling and reinstalling both Office 2007 and 64 bit version of itunes. still not working.
