itunes 9 bluescreens while syncing ...

Hallo,

itunes produce a bluescreen while syncing my ipod nano 4.G. I tried to reinstall itunes and to reset and reload my ipod, everything with no success. The itunes diagnostics reports: connections ok and while syncing test "no ipod found". Thats crazy. I have no idea what's to do. Please help.

9.0.2 crash ...

I installed iTunes 9.0.2 today. The install itself went fine but when I try to open iTunes, it will try to update my library only to close. I do not get a detailed description from Windows why it must close only that "iTunes has stopped working". I have tried to repair and also to reinstall iTunes but have had no success. No audio for bought videos from itunes ...

First of all I use:
itunes 9.0.2, Qicktime 7.6.4
and Windows 7.

I'm not able to hear any sound for bought itunes videos.

First I was also not able to see the video I got only a grey area. But this could be solved. Now I'm still not able to hear anything. For mp3 files or tvshows I have no problems - just for bought videos from itunes store. Can somebody please help?

Problem with Windows7 Upgrade and itunes ...

I have upgraded one of my PC's to windows 7. My problem is that songs that I have had album art for doesn't have it and when I search for it it can't find it. I click on get info and everything is grayed out I can't make artist or song changes and the TAB that says artwork is missing. How do I fix this? This has never happened to me before. Problem syncing video in iPhoto with ...

Hi... I've got a stupid problem syncing my iPhoto and iTunes together. I've got an iPhone that I'd like to use in displaying some of my pictures and videos as well. I've made up albums that include pictures and video however I can only sync the pictures and not the video. I'm at my ends on this problem and have tried numerous things including using iMovie to make those videos into movies, but the problem with that is that I can't incorporate those into the album either. This is SOOO STUPID and frustrating! Any help would be much appreciated. Sorry for the rant.. It's been a problem I've been stuck with for a long time.

ITunes 9 started to leave blank row when I delete some songs. It looks like it forgets to update the rows. and you can see the blank row that won't disappear till you restart iTunes.

iTunes 9 annoyance - Get info window ...

When you right click on file in library and choose Get Info - that window always tends to be in focus of other application windows on your computer till you close it. In early versions of iTunes you can leave it in the foreground and work in other application, but now it tends to come on top every 30 seconds.

Does anyone know: Is it possible for two users on the same computer to "SHARE" the same iTunes Library so you don't have to duplicate libraries on the hard disk?

So far I have been having to load 25GB of Music on my wife's account and the same 25GB itunes library on my account.
I have put the single iTunes files in the "PUBLIC" music folder and set that as the default on the ITUNES "Preferences" but still does not work for some reason.

Album artwork shows on Itunes but not ...

I have a 30gb Ipod classic and I have tried everything to get the album artwork to show on my Ipod. The issue I'm having is that some artwork shows and some does not. For example, my 30 Seconds To Mars album shows the artwork on the first two songs, has a blank, black image for song three and the image appears for song for again. Available Downloads locking up iTunes ...

After upgrading to iTunes 9, it immediately starts trying to download a bunch of SD versions of HD content I have purchased at the store. Problem is, when it goes to download the first one, it will not start and the "hours remaining" just starts climbing. It is currently at 11000 hours remaining. It will not let me pause or delete the item and iTunes will not even close. I have to manually end the program and then it will not restart until I restart the computer. I don't even want the SD content. Is there a way to "clear out" the downloads outside of the iTunes program. I have purchased items that do need to download but I can't get to them because it gets hung on the old stuff.

Part way through a song, it stops and ...

I've looked, and it's always the same part of the song. What happens is, the thing showing the part that the song's at, once it gets to that point in the song, it jumps over to where there's only a few seconds left, then just goes on to the next song! it's usually a little past halfway that this happens. Also, it seems to only be songs that i've edited in a program called "Wavepad" and saved again. How can I fix this?

Need help!

I purchased the HD version of Quantum of Solace and keep getting the dreaded (err 3259).

The weird thing is all my other downloads work just fine, so it is not a firewall issue (which is turned off by the way).

The other issue is that everytime I start iTunes, this download remains in my queue and I can even remove it!

iTunes Store Loading Problem ...

I recently downloaded iTunes 9 and iTunes 9.0.1 and have had this problem ever since. When I click the "iTunes Store" it takes a long time to load, then when its done loading, most of the screen is white with everything crammed over on the left side of the screen, making the page really long. Theres also a couple of ads for albums and things jumping all over the screen. I know this isnt what its supposed to look like. I have never had any problems with iTunes before version 9, so it probably isnt my computer.

Any help woud be GREATLY appreciated!

I am at my wits end on this...My iphone 3G has stopped syncing with outlook. all worked fine on my older system. just built up a new system running win 7 64 bit. now when i try to sync i get a message that "OutlookSyncClient has stopped working". still syncs the music and podcasts but no outlook calendar or contacts. i have tried uninstalling and reinstalling both Office 2007 and 64 bit version of itunes. still not working.

What is the i for? ...

When I have the Music Screen up there are mulitple copies of some songs. AND some have an i next to them. What is that about? Also what about all the duplicates?

Hi,

I want itunes to be started at system startup, to be minimized to the system tray, so that podcasts can be downloading in the background all the time.
Does anyone know why this is not a option in Itunes preferences? Anyone know of a workaround to make this work?

Currently I have itunes in the startup folder in programs. I have tried replacing this with two different scripts I found on these forums, one worked ok with itunes 7 but not v9. (itunes starts but it is maximised).
Setting the itunes shortcut properties to 'start minimised' doesn't work either.

If anyone has found a way to do this I'd really appreciate it.

To any apple coders, should they be reading this - this is trivial, practically a one liner - why on earth don't you have this done already?

Changing OS to windows7 ...

Hi! im currently using Windows Vista (no flaming!...) and today i've gotten sick of it and i wana go for Windows7. My question is if i can get an exact copy of my iTunes library to that new OS? im not deleting my data on the disks, just formating C:\ and installing the Windows 7 there.

My guess is that i could login as my iTunes user, and download my bought music etc. is that posible?

I can't believe I'm even saying this. I just bought my first iPod, figuring all the major kinks must be out by now.. Clearly, since the backspace key is utilized primarily (99% of the time) as a navigatory key by Windows users, it should be disabled in iTunes as a deletion key. I don't much care if that's how they do it on the Mac, I don't use a Mac, and it's a significant enough situation that an accommodation in the software can be made. I'm stunned, really. I searched posts, back a whole year, and all I see when I search on "backspace" are people talking about how they used it as a navigation key and accidentally lost their music, and "now what."

Now what? Fix it, is what! This is hardly cosmetic, this is an entirely functional change that's needed for the Windows version. Clearly.

plze help me, my hard drive died on me, and i havent backed up my library. ive downloaded a new itune on my new harddrive, but obviously i have no library now. there must be a way to get the tunes from my ipod or to get the old library back somehow. and yes i know im silly for not backing up my library, i shall do so from now on.surley there is a way to download my music from my ipod to the library? and why cant i just email itunes support?

Sharing Music on Different Computer at ...

Okay, so my main computer, the one that had the purchased songs and had list of the song I purchased.. when I plug my iPod into the computer, the iPod icon won't show up in the iTunes, instead, it opened to a new window. So I uninstall to reinstall it because that's what the iTunes told me to do. When I tried to download it won't let me, and I can't download other programs too.. and people said my computer has virues.. so I no longer have iTunes on my main computer.. is there any other ways that I can get my songs back from my other computers by logging at the same account?? migrate MP3 library to new ...

I currently keep my 80 GB MP3 library on a portable E: Drive.
I've always managed my own music folder ex: "E:\MP3\Rock and Alternative\Radiohead" etc. etc.

However, I recently upgraded my system (C:) hard drive and now have room to actually keep all of my MP3s there and would like to move them over to drive C: So the path will read like this: "C:\MP3\Rock and Alternative\Radiohead" while keeping all of my star-ratings, play counts, playlists, etc...

Is there a way to do this?

My Smart Playlists are sorted by "Date Added" in iTunes. When I sync to my iPhone, this sort order is lost. My smart playlists on my iPhone appear to be sorted by Artist. This issue started after upgrading to iTunes 9 (it's worked fine for earlier versions)

I'm having an issue where I'm only able to use the Remote app for one session after opening iTunes. If I put my phone to sleep or close out the Remote app and try to open it again it says "Could not find Library". I have to close iTunes and re-open then it (iPhone) can find it again.

"add folder to library" question ...

Firstly - I don't want to put all my music in the iTunes Media folder and let iTunes organise my libary - I like it the way it is.

So I've used the "add folder to library" function to add my music library from another location. I realise that iTunes won't monitor this folder so I just manually add my library folder each time I add music to it, and iTunes rescans the entire directory. Seems to work OK...

Is this creating duplicates or a hideously large library XML? Or does iTunes recognise if a file already exists and only add the new files to its library XML?

I am converting over 10,000 songs from WMA files to WAV using ITunes Converter. In watching the progress the top item in my playlist are on the left contains the conversion with a green check next to the song that is now in WAV. WIll this "playlist" eventually be my main library so I can playback songs or will I always have this as a playlist?

I have probably posted a fix to this issue to help others, but it isn't working for me.

I have all of my .mp3 files in one folder named "Music" that is a stand alone file, not in any iTunes folder. In fact, it is in a different hard drive. When I search that drive for .mp3 files, it says I have 10966 files with .mp3 extensions. For some reason, I have 10967 songs in my iTunes library. I added the "Kind" column to my iTunes and ordered them by file type. All of them are MPEG Audio File format.

I suspected that I had a song with the "!" so I went through the entire library page by page and watched for it. Saw nothing. Tried a sync, thinking it would give me the "Song cannot be found" alert. Nothing.

How can I find what this extra track is?

What a Mess New iTunes 9 is! ...

I just installed iTunes 9.0.1 this afternoon ... and from the minute I launched it
I was not impressed. For one thing it runs far slower than the previous and latest
iTunes 8 I had installed.

Most of all, everytime I do an artist search, say The Rolling Stones, when the first window
comes up displaying some of their more popular songs, I then try to have it display all
the iTune Stones songs ... and iTunes 9 ALWAYS goes into a spinning ball mode.
At that point, I just have to force quit iTunes 9.

I just purchased (not arrived yet), one of the new 16 GB iPod nano's and installed this
iTunes 9.1 so I would be able to use the new iPod.

Already, I'm thinking of returning the new 5th generation iPod (or selling it new on eBay), and
going back to the latest iTunes 8, and picking up a 4th generation iPod nano off eBay or elsewhere.

It just seems like Apple really screwed up the user experience with iTunes 9, especially with
all the complaints I am reading about it lately.

I just hope this isn't the point where Apple isn't capable of producing a good product anymore,
and is only rushing out these inferior products long before they should. Apple should stop
appeasing it's product launches to the investors and Wall Street, and start paying attention to
it's customer base more.

For the first time in many, many years, I am truly disappointed in Apple's rush to get out
another iTunes before many of the critical bugs where worked out. Let's hope they get out
some iTunes 9 updates very soon.

Me ... I looking into going back to iTunes 8 until things are worked out better in iTunes 9!

My computer had to be scrapped and started anew, I thought all of my info was saved and would be transferred from backups, but I lost my iTunes stuff. All my music is still on my iPod thankfully, but I hooked the thing up to the computer, downloaded the new versions and I can't get my playlists from the iPod to show up on my iTunes screen. In my iTunes library, I have two songs from the album "The Days Of Grays" (by Sonata Arctica) called "Flag In The Ground" and "The Last Amazing Grays". On the 'list' format on iTunes, the two songs are together, and also on the album grid view. But on the album scroll view, they are separated by the album "For The Sake Of Revenge", also by Sonata Arctica. This I think is the reason why on my iPod (touch) it duplicates the album. title pretty much says it all. i have the latest itunes. the problem that im having is basically this...when ever i go to play songs i played half way or just any duration it goes back to were i left off. i dont want that!!! Keep getting error re: access privileges ...

I'm periodically getting an error message in iTunes 9.0.1.8 for Windows (Windows 7 64bit):

"The iTunes Library file cannot be saved. You do not have enough access privileges for this operation."

As far as I can tell looking at the security settings for the folder where the iTunes library is saved, I DO have full access privileges. In fact, the last modified date for the iTunes Library.itl and iTunes Music Library.xml files is just a few minutes ago.

Also, I don't notice anything going wrong within iTunes, just these periodic, annoying errors. I could just check the "don't show this error again" box but I'd rather fix whatever is wrong.

Anyone have any clue what is going on here?

I was downloading a podcast. I went back to the Itunes Library page and 10K songs are missing. 2.4K are still there, but playlists are absent, and the library format was changed (my preferences, such as "Last Played," etc. were gone, and it switched the display of the main page from List to Grid. Songs are still in back-up, so we are okay there, but any idea (other than full reinstall of backed up library, to get things back the way they were? Note: When dowloading the podcast, it tried to access Itunes .xml file database. Can anyone offer some help on this one?

itunes freezes with airport ...

I am having major problems with itunes since i installed my airport express. Itunes will always freeze when I pause a song for more than 10 seconds or when I select the airport speakers. This only happens when I have the airport settings turned on.

It happens on both my laptop and desktop running Vista and I have tried the following with no result. Re-install itunes, turn off wireless, turn off everything in itunes, uninstall virus scanner, turn off firewall and using a different airport. Note if have tried connecting the airport by cable and wireless.

Windows, itunes and airports are all up to date. Has anyone had a similar problem or any ideas for a solution?

This is something I am getting very very frustrated about, not on one computer but two!

iTunes 8, fine.
iTunes 9, I have been suffering audio skipping and jumping problems while playing back my music, and it really gets irritating when you're trying to listen.

The computer is not to blame, WinAMP works fine. The music is fine, no skipping on my ipod touch 1G.

Is this a known problem, and is this going to get fixed any time soon? I have to use iTunes for my iPod, and it's a great music library and player, but I am really being let down here.

Running iTunes 9.01 on both Dell Inspiron 531 (AMD x2 2.6Ghz/2GB RAM) and Acer Aspire 5315 (IntelC2D 1.6Ghz/2GB RAM).

Also is this an issue on the intel mac version? I'm considering a macbook, but if itunes won't work properly, I may as well forget it, as I will be dealing with music.

I have:
laptop with Vista, itunes 8.2.1
Desktop with XP, itunes 8.2.0

I use Itunes on both computers, an airport express and an airport extreme connected to a USB hard drive that contains all the music files.

The desktop works fine with the airport express or local speakers

The laptop only works well with the laptop speakers. When I switch to the airport speakers I tunes keeps freezing and unfreezing and the music cuts in and out.

Does it sound like itunes is having a problem? Any suggestions to try?

iTunes freezing at 10th second ...

iTunes 9 does not address this problem, which has been in existence since at least version 8 for people with large libraries (I have about 80,000 items).

Whenever I play a song, 10 seconds later iTunes will freeze up for about
20 seconds, taking up 99% of CPU power (happens for mp3 files only, not m4a). The freeze will also happen if I create a playlist, move a song within a playlist, edit track title or other metadata etc.

Bad Chaptering for Audiobooks ...

Is there any way to change the chapter breaks for a downloaded audiobook from iTunes? I downloaded Imitation of Christ, and instead of having it broken chapter by chapter, there are just random breaks between several chapters that do not help. Is it possible to change the chapter breaks, or am I stuck with this poor "chapter" selection?

Subfolder ...

Is there any way of making itunes save the artist folders directly where it's told rather than in a nested subfolder?
f'rexample, I have my library set to a network drive X:\. I want them to be saved like
X:\myband\myalbum
but what I'm finding is that they go into
X:\Music\myband\myalbum
which is causing problems because of the way the library is shared by another computer running linux.

Unable to play any video or movies in ...

None of my video or movies appear to be working in iTunes anymore. Whenver I try to play any, iTunes does nothing (appears to pause for a fes secs then nothing). I am using iTunes 9.0.1.8 on a Windows Vista PC. I have also re-installed itunes, but to no avail. Whenever I try to play the videos in Quicktime diretly I get message:
"Error -2048: Couldn't open the file XYZ.m4v because it s not a file that QuickTime understands."

I did a google of the error message and found a few suggestions including re-encoding my videos....no thanks!!! The following Apple Support link came up: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2535
This basically said that I need to PAY for a Quicktime plugin.

Does anyone have a striaghtforward solution to this problem. Note that my videos also include downloads from the iTunes store.

Hi there, I use an external harddisc for al my musicfiles. But there is still an iTunes map on my laptop. It contains folders of iTunes Music Library and more. When I delete this map my iTunes library, when I start up iTunes, is gone as well. I want this iTunes map on my external harddisc, is that possible? Just copy-paste won't work. I have not any more space left on my laptop that's why I want to move all iTunes files to my external harddisc. Help please! Excuse the bad English.

iTunes error 13/14/1604, Can not ...

Hello,

My iPod Touch crashed when using a app, so I did a hard reset.
After that it displayed the "Connect to iTunes thing"

The problems started that

So I connected it to iTunes, and it said that it couldn't make a connection because of my password.
There was no way to enter the password though, because of the connect to itunes picture.

I've put my iPod in DFU mode, and then tried to restore.

It gave a unknown error (14)

Now I keep getting an 14 error

I have no idea what to do now, I do not have any warrenty, since the water indicator is not the color it should be.
But that happened 4 months ago, and all the time it worked perfect

Everytime i go to purchase an item on itunes, it asks me for my apple account. After logging in it tells me that the account has yet to be reviewed by the itunes store. So after entering all the info on the actual itunes stre browser i go to purchase the item and it asks me agian to review it as if i had never done it already.

Any thoughts on what to do is most appretiated.

Cover flow is not working in Itunes 9 ...

I just reformated my old Toshiba 1905 laptop (XP home, 1mb Ram, Intel Mobility M6 video card) and wanted to ues it for music in a remote part of the house. However, when I load Itunes9 and my music, Cover flow does not work. It doesn't have blank albums withthe music enote init - it is just blank. If I click in the space there is no response. Viewing in a grid works though and I can see all the album covers. Very strange.

Has anyone had this problem with Itunes 9? Soulutions?

Itunes full screen visualization/cover ...

Using itunes 9.0.1.8
Maximizing coverflow or visualization renders the second monitor a blank screen. Anyone know why itunes would do this? it seems rather unnecessary, i can run games and such full screen without the second screen going blank. it happens on either screen i put itunes on, the screen itunes is not on blanks out:P
this is on xp sp3 with a geforce 9600gso, all patched and up to date.

I have a second computer, a laptop for when I'm away from my house. I love the music I purchased on iTunes store and that are on my home PC. Is it possible to set this music up on the laptop iTunes? I've found at least one other topic here regarding this issue, but Apple has yet to address it, or even confirm that it's in fact an issue.

A big portion of my library consists of international artists, many who have special/nonstandard characters in their names (e.g. "Ti?sto"). In previous versions of iTunes, I could search for "Tiesto" (note the absence of the umlaut over the 'e') and all of those tracks would appear. However, after upgrading to iTunes 9, I'm forced to search for "Ti?sto" in order to view those tracks.

Itunes hoses up computer ...

My problems actually began about 6-8 months ago. I use Itunes to play my music on my computer and the program began playing the same song twice-AT THE SAME TIME. It would play about 5 seconds of the same song usually with a ?-1 second delay then quit and the remainder of the song would be just fine. Just that initial 4 or 5 seconds at the beginning with the same song playing twice was my only issues. I tried several different things and could not rectify the problem. So, I uninstalled Itunes and downloaded a new version from this Apple website and now when Itunes opens up, it COMPLETLY locks up my computer to the point I have to use the power button to get it to shut down. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Itunes several times and still get the same thing. Can anyone help me please?

I copied my iTunes files to a new Seagate terabyte drive and then identified that drive as the primary location for iTunes. A few days later I discovered most of the music files couldn't be found. I began re-loading my CDs and today find that most of those files cannot be found either. What's causing this?

Frustration is magnified because I found this out as I connected by out-of-the-box Touch and there isn't anything to load! Ugh.

"Applications" tab not working ...

I installed iTunes 9 and upgraded my iPhone 3GS to 3.1 firmware. I use Windows XP.

When I connect my iPhone 3GS and click the Applications tab on iTunes 9, everything appears normal at first. I see a list of my applications on the left side of the screen and I see the program loading my applications on the right side of the screen.

Unfortunately, iTunes does not respond to any of my mouse clicks. I cannot do anything in this tab. I can change to other tabs and do what I want, but the application tab does nothing.

Any help would be appreciated!

HELP!! Authorization in the same laptop ...

My BF installed Win 7 operation system on his laptop yesterday and re-authorized it when he used iTunes. However, when he finished authorization, a dialog block showing that "Including this one, you have authorised two computers out of your available 5" appeared; what's worse, when he connected his iPhone to the laptop, it deleted all the bought apps in the iPhone, instead of synchronizating.

I also want to install Win 7 operation system, but I'm afraid that the same thing would happen again (to my iTouch).

We're quite confused that why the authorization in the same laptop with different operation systems is counted as two times. Friends who know please tell us whether this is the case.. If not, please tell us how to deal with it as we frequently re-install operation system for quicker operation.

Cannot edit/delete a certain song ...

Apparently I imported a song in iTunes (9) that is write protected. I cannot edit any field (they are all greyed out when i use GET INFO), nor can I add art work (message: ArtWork Not Modifiable) and not even delete the song.
When I look on my harddisk for the file to which it is linked, I CAN delete that file, the song in iTunes then gets a ! mark to show there is no file linked, but even THEN i cannot delete the song entry.
How come?
And more important: What Can I Do?

When I close down my iTunes, the next time i open it up, i have nothing in my library at all, i've tried removing the programme and re-installing it, but that doesnt seem to solve it either! As you can imagine this is really starting to annoy me now, as i can't upload anything to my iPod and i have nothing in my library!

Something has happened to all my m4a-music files which before this major upgrade played just fine on my PC running Windows Vista. Nothing has changed besides my recent upgrade to iTunes 9.0 with which I could not listen to many of my songs encoded with aacPlus encoder into m4a-files. Having now installed the upgrade of iTunes to 9.0.1, I can now "hear" the music but the sound quality is not good. The same music file plays correctly using for example VLC media player. As nothing else has changed on my computer, this is obviously an iTunes issue, and I wonder if there is a remedy for this, or do I have to wait for another bug fix?

Connected an iPod classic and my computer finds it but iTunes doesnt find it on the sidebar. When I run a diagnostic it says iPod is connected. I have connected a 5th generation iPod and iTunes finds it. I have tried resetting, restarting my computer, I have the most recent iTunes,and stopping and restarting the iPod service hardware. The last thing to do is restore the settings. My problem is it erases everything and what happens if it still doesnt find the iPod on iTunes. Then I have a useless iPod.

iTunes Not Reading MP3 Tags Until Played ...

I just imported 5000 MP3s, as well as another 3000-5000 songs in other formats into iTunes onto my new computer. iTunes recognized the tags (title, artist, etc.) for songs in most formats, except MP3. It gets the album and artist right, but doesn't read the title, and just uses the file name. Once I play a misnamed song, it changes to the title assigned to the MP3, but as I have so many of them it isn't really an option to play each MP3 one by one. Many of these are duplicates of files in other formats, and the mislabeled songs makes it even harder to determine and delete duplicates.

Any help is much appreciated.

Shuffle option in iTunes is not working ...

When I updated my iTunes to 9.0.1, the shuffle button on the bottom left corner of the iTunes library does not work. I have tried to turn on and off the shuffle and play a song, and as soon as that song ends it stops playing all together. I have tried to sort by artists, songs, and albums while toggling the "shuffle" button. Still no worky. Is this a known issue with the update?

I'm in iTunes 8.2 with my iPhone 3G connected. I click "update" and I get a message saying that "iTunes will update your iPhone..." I click update and I get "There was a problem downloading the software for the iPhone "Steve's iPhone 3G". The network connection could not be made."

I'm not seeing anyone else posting this error. I assume it means Apple's servers are busy, but everyone else seems to be getting the update fine.

My internet connection is strong (22M down / 5M up) and I can access everything else out there, including the iTunes Store. Any ideas?

Sony DR-BT160AS - No track skip? ...

Hi all-

I picked up the Sony DR-BT160AS headphones for my iPhone 3GS and they work great; I've already run one 1/2 marathon in them and even took a phone call during the race.

The only issue is track skip/back; the volume part of the joystick works, when going up and down, but the track forward/back part does not seem to do anything; the iPhone doesn't seem to even recognize what I did.

Does anyone know if there's a setting or some additional configuration necessary to enable this? During a run it's obviously a lot easier to get at the back of the headphones than it is to deal with the whole touch-interface of the iPhone.

I had some bad experiences with the quality of a motorola bluetooth a year ago, so I'm kind of leary on the quality of them.

iPhone 3G S and Sony Ericsson HBH-IS800 ...

I just started evaluating the Sony Ericsson HBH-IS800 headset. It looks promising with its ultra-compact size and decent sound quality.

However, I am having a major issue with the headset. It does not have volume control built in, meaning volume must be controlled on the iPhone. However, using the volume switch on the side of the iPhone does not work when it is paired with the HBH-IS800 (or any other BT headset, for that matter). It seems to contradict with Apple's following KB article.

I would like to get music from the ipod bit of the iphone or spotify to come out of the speakers. I have tried the radio transmitters but they are rubbish.

Iphone Music Playback Sound Stops when ...

I just installed a new Pioneer DEH-P710BT ( http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/Products/CarAudioVideo/In-Dash/CD-Players/Premier/DEH-P710BT ) Receiver in my car, and the Iphone connection works great, but after I set up the Bluetooth connection I noticed a bug.

The Receiver has the ability to connect to the Iphone via Bluetooth to allow Phone calls to go through it aswell as stream music and all other sounds from the Iphone through bluetooth, and that ability is enabled soon as you pair the Iphone with the Receiver. Bluetooth Audio playback is used by selecting the BT Audio source from the receiver.

After about 10-12 second after turning the car on the Bluetooth phone syncs then after around another 10 seconds the BT Audio syncs/enables (both are shown by their respective icon/light showing up when they sync/become available).

Soon as the BT Audio light pops up, the music from the Iphone (Connected with the standard USB sync cable) cuts out, but the song still progresses, and songs can be changed, but the actual sound isnt getting passed through. Whether its an issue with the Receiver or the Iphone I cant be sure. Unfortunately you cant disable BT audio separately from the BT Phone sync, so you have both or none.

You can work around this by disconnecting the Iphone and reconnecting it after the BT audio syncs, changing audio sources then changing back after BT audio syncs or simply waiting around 23 seconds from the receiver going on to plug the Iphone in (thats how long it takes for the BT Audio to auto connect). This also only happens if its playing from the Iphone source when the receiver turns on (or if you manage to switch to it in under the ~23 seconds it takes for BT Audio to establish a conection). Disabling the Bluetooth pairing also removes this, but I rather not loose the phone syncing fuctionality.

BT audio isnt actually getting streamed (but does work if Iphone is unplugged) when the Iphone is plugged in due to it still being in use from the standard sync cable, so its not that the audio has swapped output sources, but more like just establishing the connection cuts it.

Anyone else notice this?

I've got iPhone 3GS with OS 3.1. recently i purchased Sennheiser MM 200 bluetooth headset. After few days i'm quite safistied with it, about everything works, part from forward/back buttons on headset, even voice control works.
But when i'm using headset for example listening to music, and i get a call, music pauses, and i get certain ringing voice through headset, BUT also the phone rings!!! Is this normal behaviour?
I can answer the call with headset's buttons, but is there a setting or something, so it wouldn't ring from the phone? Of course i can but it to silence mode, and that works, but am i missing something?

My iphone is not discovering any one of the bluetooth devices which are in range such as computer, GPS, mobiles. Yesterday, Apple has replaced my iPhone with new one. After reaching to home, I have synced my iphone with my computer and checked search for bluetooth devices. It is been searching but not discovering any bluetooth device. The troubleshooting steps I followed as, 1) Restarted iPhone, 2) Reset Network settings 3) Restored complete iPhone.

OS 3.0 and Motorola S9 Track Buttons ...

Installed GM 3.0 on my iPhone 3G and paired my Motorola S9 with no issues. All Functions work as desired with the exception of next/previous track buttons on the S9, while all other work flawlessly, Volume, Pause/Play, and Phone. Any idea why the track buttons do not work, do I have to upgrade to the S9-HD?

The headphones pair ok (took a few times), and the volume controls work fine on the headphones, but the pause, forward, and back buttons don't work. Does the 3G S not support remote control capabilities (AVRCP)?

My headphones still work with the iPhone OS 3.1. But a problem occurs with I try to stop a song with the headphones.

Usually, double tapping the Play/Pause button (on the left side) stops and rewinds the song (not pauses).

But with 3.1, double tapping said button only pauses the song. And to replay the song, I have to manually go on my iPod Touch, and press the rewind button.

This is the only thing to stop working since the upgrade to 3.1. Although, I never got the previous/next buttons to work with my iTouch.

iPhone 3G OS 3.0 will not pair with new ...

Hey folks,

Just picked up a new Q-Three bluetooth headset as my puppy chewed my existing headset to pieces. At any rate, when I attempt to pair it up with my iPhone 3G running OS 3.0, the phone sees the headset, correctly identifies it and then asks me to enter the PIN. I enter the "0000" PIN as instructed in the documentation that came with the headset and the iPhone tells me "Incorrect PIN" every time I try to pair them. Funny thing is that my MacBook Pro sees the headset and pairs with it flawlessly. It doesn't even ask for the PIN to be entered. I'm using the headset right now to listen to music! Any thoughts as to why I get this "Incorrect PIN" message? Is there a way to have the iPhone bypass the PIN? Am I SOL?

This is a long shot, but I've been trying to pair my MP3 Sunglasses with BT to my iPhone. The iPhone recognizes it and and offers to pair it if I can produce the correct PIN. Mororola H680 appears to drain battery. ...

Not much of a forum writer, but here goes. Just upgraded to the 3GS from a BlackBerry Pearl, love it, but after I finally got my Moto h680 to pair with the iPhone it just seems to kill the battery. In anyone else's experience, is this normal? BT headset drains the battery faster than BlackBerry or (evil) Windows Mobile 6.1? Or do I have the misfortune of having a battery killing headset.

Just want to find out if anyone here is happy with iPhone OS 3.1 and Bluetooth in GM vehicles or faced with any issues. I have a 2009 Buick Enclave and an iPhone 3G. I would like to upgrade to 3.1 but have so far resisted for the fear of breaking BT connectivity having read some issues with past versions.

Bluetooth Sound Quality Problem ...

Im using a Iphone 3G to stream music to my bluetooth car stereo and i can hear some sort of static and crackling behind the music. If i pause the music and turn the sound right up you can really hear the static real bad.

I have tried to use a cable to play through my car stereo and the noise doesn't happen.

Is anyone else having this problem, and is there a solution?

Acura TSX 2007 - Bluetooth doesn't work ...

I have an Acura TSX 2007. I can't initiate a call from my iPhone 3GS and have it connect via car's bluetooth, even though the iPhone and the car are paired. The call would connect but I can't hear the person on the other end, not through my car's speakers or through the iPhone - unless I give up and switch to "connect via iPhone" and talk on the phone instead.

Strangely, I can effortlessly listen to voice mail using visual voice mail through my car's bluetooth.

The only way I can initiate the call from the car is by tell the car a number to dial, but it's very inconvenient.

Does anyone know how I can initiate a call from the phone and connect it via Acura's bluetooth?

my imac, other iphones, and any other device that has bluetooth can't find my iphone, and my iphone can't find anything, either...just searches endlessly with NO results.
i find it rather funny, how a 3 year LG can find every bluetooth device in the area, but my 1 week old iphone is lost with no results.

Motorola S9-HD cannot voice dial with ...

I just picked up the S9-HD's and have a 3G S with 3.1 installed. I Like the headphones a lot and the added voice control is nice but I have a problem voice dialing through the headset. It will dial a contact or phone number but right after I give the command everything goes silent. No sound through the headset but the phone says its connected to the headset. Worse yet, after this happens no sound comes out of the headsets for music or anything. The controls on the headset connect and function but no audio. Is this possibly a phone issue? Tried another S9-HD set and the same thing happened.

Anyone experiencing the same thing?

Phone Book not working on UHP bluetooth ...

Hi.
I want to use my iPhone 2G with the UHP bluetooth system in my Opel Astra H. The pairing works fine, I can do and accept phone calls, but when I select the phone book the display (in the car, not the iPhone) says "loading contacts..." but it never finishes. The last called contact are almost instantly synchronized and can be used for calls.

How can I get the contact list/phonebook working via bluetooth to be able to call all of my contacts and not only the most recently ones?

Is there a way to disable Bluetooth Audio streaming (A2DP), while maintaining Bluetooth phone capability?

Since installing OS 3.0 on my iPhone the bluetooth connection to my Oticon hearing aid streamer does not work correctly. Prior to installing OS 3.0, bluetooth connection for the cell phone was good. Apple Bluetooth Headset and Iphone 3Gs, ...

I purchased the Apple Bluetooth headset when I got my first Iphone two years ago. The volume was excellent and that made the headset excellent in a noisy environment such as ones car.

When I upgraded to the 3Gs and paired the headset, I found the volume was not adequate even in a quiet room. I repaired with the old Iphone and it's fine.

So I've waiting for Apple to find and fix this bug! My old Iphone, wife's 3G and my 3Gs all have the newest firmware version 3.0 and the volume is fine with the old iphone. I have not tested on my wife's phone.

OK, here's the problem. I get in the car and the BT radio sees my phone and connects to it, ready to accept calls over the car hi-fi.
I start up my Speed Camera software and I decide to listen to the radio while I'm driving.
The problem is that all sound is now directed to the radio and as I'm listening to the radio and not the A2DP input, I can't hear the speed camera warnings.

The solution at the moment is to go into iPod, actually PLAY a song and then select the speaker for the output, stop playing the track, close iPod, go back and restart the Speed Camera app, then everything is as I want it.
Shouldn't there be a better way to do this? Have I missed it?
Should the phone remember that I don't want to play sounds through the radio until I reselect it maybe?

I was wondering if anybody knows whether or not the phone can support both stereo bluetooth and regular stereo plugs at the same time. Allowing 2 people to listen to the same audio/video/etc without using the speaker. Essentially one wired and one wireless connection receiving the same audio output. It doesn't seem to be supported simultaneously, but certainly seems like something that could be done in a patch or App.

I just upgraded mu iPhone 3G to 3.0 and am planning on replacing some older wired Shure earbuds to Bluetooth Stereo.

Does anyone yet have an idea of expected battery life of the iPhone when streaming audio over bluetooth? If it kills the battery, then I am really not all that interested.

Also - does anyone know which is better - the Moto S9 HD or the Jaybird JB 200?

No Delay in Audio on One Particular ...

Last time I posted about how I am finding about a one second delay of the audio relative to the video using the iPhone 3Gs and Motorola S9 headset. The consensus was that there was an unavoidable delay inherent in the A2DP system, some buffereing going on, and that this system was not good for watching movies. I thought that sounded reasonable UNTIL I watched a particular piano concert on my iPhone using my S9. The audio was synced perfectly to the video...no delay whatsoever. For all the other videos stored on my iPhone, the audio and video are synced fine using the iPhone speaker, but there is a one second delay using my S9. For this one video, no delay. What is going on here? Any ideas?

iPhone 3.0 A2DP Distortion Using ...

I purchased a Kensington Bluetooth Car Kit for my wife (the one with the aux output) so that she could use her iPhone in her car. The was just after the 3.0 software was revealed, so I also purchased a Sony iPod Bluetooth Adapter so that she could pair the iPhone to the car kit for both phone and music. It worked ok, except that the music would get distorted sometime, and sometimes it worked perfectly. I assumed that it was because I was using an adapter, and thought the problem would be resolved once the 3.0 software was released.

So after updating her iPhone yesterday, we ran out to her car and tried it, only to find that there was now always distortion! It paired quickly, and everything seems to work fine. The distortion is most evident on iTunes Plus tracks (not so much on lower quality tracks, though its still there). Is there some setting that needs to be changed in order to get the music to play without distortion? Is this a limitation of the hardware?

Additional info: Calls sound fine, as does internet radio, though they are of noticeably lower quality than the iTunes.

In anything whether it be keypad tones, games audios, pocket guitar or movies, there seems to be a delay. I dont really mind except when watching videos.

When listening via cabled headset, there is no problem, but when we use Bluetooth A2DP, everything is out of Sync..

Been waiting for iPhone 3.1 and the fuller support for Bluetooth. It seems like we're getting there. I use the Apple In-Ear Headphones and while in my opinion the sound quality is marginally inferior to the old-style in-ear headphones (without the controller) - yes, I was the one person who loved those - Voiceover, call control, pause, skip, rewind, volume etc. are great features which I don't want to give up. The other compelling avantage is that the controller is very small, something the other manufacturers don't seem to think is important.

But, I hate the cable. I hate that I have to thread it under a shirt due to the noise. I hate that it catches on things, yanking the buds out of my ears violently.

I have searched and searched but right now do any Bluetooth in-ear phones exist that fully replicate the functionality obtainable with the wired Apple in-ear phones?

iphone 3GS with bluetooth connection ...

I connected my iphone 3GS to my Audi car system through bluetooth connection. The Audi system recognizes the iphone and his address phone and all works well.
The issue comes when I disconnect the iphone from the car kit. After, even someone calls me, the call ringtone rings only two times and after switches off during the incoming call. This issue is random, sometimes the alarm rings well, sometimes not by working in the way described above. Someone has the same issue and knows how solve it? Is an issue linked to hw or only sw?

I have a Sennheiser VMX 100 Bluetooth Headset purchased at the Apple store last year that is very erratic with my 3GS. It pairs and connects but the audio is intermittent and the bluetooth icon frequently flashes trying to reconnect then the audio just drops out altogether. It worked fine on my 3G. My older Motorola HS820 works fine on both phones. Is anybody else experiencing this problem.

Hey Guys: 2009 BMW iPhone pre 3.1 worked like a charm.
Vehicle recognized iPhone w/o having to do anything.... (once paired of course.)

After upgrading to 3.0, my iPhone 3G locks up about 30% of the time when either I turn on or turn off my 2008 Lexus LX-350. The phone just sits with a dark screen and needs to be re-booted- then works OK. The issue never happened before the 3.0 upgrade. Any thoughts?

Hi, I have a iTech BluebandR stereo bluetooth headset. It is able to pair and connect to iPhone 3G, and iPhone 3GS. But i found this irritating problem, that is while iPhone is already streaming (via Bluetooth A2DP) to the headset, and I open the bluetooth settings page, I can hear stuttering on the headset.. It is ok again when it is not on the bluetooth setting page. is there anyone has similar issue?

I know Voice Command doesn't work with bluetooth headsets yet but it's supposed to with the new update.

I'm looking for something that has all the controls of my iPhone 3GS wired headset ... but wireless! Nothing too bulky either. Does one exist? Again I want it for music AND for phone functions (answering calls (need microphone), voice command, etc... Also headphones (both ears) not just a one ear headset.

I have a 2 piece pair of Logitech bluetooth headphones that I use with my Macbook (one piece gets plugged into headphone jack) but that won't work with iPhone and is just for music...

I have found the Apple blue-tooth ear-set completely unusable after upgradinmg to iPhone OS3.1. The communication between the blue-tooth and the phone (both ways) breaks up so badly I cannot hear/understand anybody I attempt to speak with and they report a similar experience listening to me.

I have found the problem to completely clear up -if- I turn off Wi-Fi networking. It appears that there is an interference problem. With Wi-Fi turned on I find the blue-tooth connection again unusable.

Anybody else?

The bluetooth headset (over 4 years old) I was using with my 1st generation iPhone will not be discovered by my 3GS, is there a difference in the bluetooth technology? Is it a possibility that I need to upgrade my bluetooth headset? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I just bought I phone and I found it very disappointing. I have another cellphone which I will rely on more and ignore the iphone. The bluetooth unaccessability and the complicated way of accessing items via icons (I don't mean the clicking thing but the linking between items comparing to my other phone). It is a mistake that I have to pay for since I have a contract with the network provider regarding this iphone. It is very inappropriate from the company to connect their bluetooth device with their own devices only and not with devices from other companies. What do you think guys, did you face the same problem?

3.1 Bluetooth bugs? ...

So i am pretty sure this is a bug. My car has bluetooth handsfree and audio streaming built in. 3.0 and 3.0.1 worked just fine - no issues.

With 3.1 - it still works, kinda. No issues streaming audio and you can still make calls. However if you are streaming audio via bluetooth, and make a call from the phone via the bluetooth handsfree - the ring doesn't sound over the bluetooth at all. It seems like the phone is just hanging and not connecting, and just when you are about to say ***, the call connects. It's kind of jarring.

BUT when you are not streaming bluetooth audio - and are listening to the radio or whatever... ring sounds just fine. Additionally - when i dial through the car, ring sounds just fine. In fact - it works just fine with everything but Bluetooth audio. heck you can even swith audio source and actually here it ringing, just not when its on bluetooth audio mode.

Anyone else see this with either a headset or a car? I am thinking this is a bug because the ring sounds properly in every other bluetooth use situation.

have tried restore to new phone, re-pairing, hard restart, all to no avail. i know it worked prior to 3.1

Hi, i have a blue ant car kit and a Nolan helmet with the blue tooth module, before 3.0 they both worked fine, I upgraded to 3.0 and the car kit still works without a problem but the helmet has stopped working, I can force connect it but it wont work and then disconnects itself.
Any ideas?
I rang the importers for Nolan but they said to return it to get it checked out, its not the helmet its the phone so that wont help.

I've been having NO trouble with pairing but CONNECTING after pairing. I think I've solved the problem but wanted to know if other's have the same issue.

I have no problem connecting if:
1] the iPhone is NOT in the dock or
2] if the iPhone IS in the dock but iTunes is NOT open.

But...

If the iPhone IS in the dock and iTunes IS open, the headset refuses to connect.

Can anyone else confirm this behavior?
